After market CZ hammers (comp/race hammers) have an altered geometry, this in turn alters the position of the sear with the hammer cocked. This change can stop the safety from working. When you change out the factory hammer in a CZ75 variant to an after market comp/race style hammer the safety requires fitting to regain normal safety function. You have the option of fitting the forward leg of the sear or the safety lever pad. Generally people fit the sear because it is the cheaper part.

Another option is to acquire a Cajun Gun Works Adjustable Sear. This allows you to avoid the hand fitting. This sear can be adjusted with a set scerw to a specific pistol.

This is the hammer it’s got... is that really considered aftermarket that needs to be fit with the sear?

Screw it.. ordered the adjustable sear after reading the description

The way that i understand it, if it has shorter hammer hooks it means that the geometry is altered. You would think that you could take a factory 75B hammer and just shorten the hammer hooks and get a better SA trigger pull. From what i have gathered on the subject when you do this you end up getting hammer follow because the shortened hooks will not catch reliably.

Picking up an adjustable sear is a good move, make sure to read the instructions thoroughly when you install it. Let us know how it goes, we all learn from this stuff.

Everyone recommending a CGW adjustable sear or another type of adjustable sear is spot on.

It’s safer, order one up and follow the installation correctly for proper safety function

I actually was going to do just a hammer on my sp01 just because I saw one cheap in the MP. Before I pulled the trigger, i called Cajun, who strongly advised me to replace the sear if i touch the hammer.

Honestly, it's extremely easy to fit the sear without the CGW adjustable part.

It's Ti Nitride like drill bits, making it OK.
DLC would be better, but hey OP might be on to a untapped market with a Tiger King CZ
