Conversely, a .45 mag would not fit in the well even with a .45 grip.

The P250 did not have such a feature and supported the full caliber change.

Honestly I lost track of all the variances and what not. And apparently no one has bothered to catalog them comprehensively in a single thread on any forum, so we are left with hundreds of 'bits and pieces of the story' threads spanning many years and several versions of the FCUs etc. I suppose it would be easier to find Jimmy Hoffa at this point than to get a handle on the P320 caliber conversion story.

Yeah, we "discussed" this a bunch of time in another Sig specific forum. Sig keeps tweaking the configuration too which adds yet another dimension to the "compatibility matrix".

My factory 45 p320 can go down in caliber but you can’t go up. The bottom of the 9mm FCU is different or so I read.

I convert mine from 45 to 9 all the time and takes about 45seconds at the range. I did have issues with the 45 slide lock working on the legion slide. I put a factory x5 slide lock in there and now it locks back reliably with both calibers. $15 part plus shipping. I got all of my factory Sigs parts from Small Gun parts .com

I'm the same way. 2 P320 full size 9mm guns. One in black. The other in FDE. Both have night sights from the factory. I got the FDE one pre-upgrade. I did send it in. Still love it. Looking to get the M17, M18, and X5 Legion, then I'll be done buying P320s.

They're worth a lot of money in Kalifornia. So are Glock 43's and SIG P365's.

I have to say the slide release on the sig 320 is in a perfect location and the grip feels incredible in the stock version.

That being said, the FN509T has an equally impressively placed slide release and doesn't fire when you smack it on something.

IMHO, get the upgrade. Deal with your trigger feel preference after you make the thing safe..
