Nighthawk Customs just released their new double stack monolithic 1911. I love it, and will definitely be placing an order for one soon. I just need to decide if I want the commander length or the full length with the compensator. Here's the write up from Nighthawk about each model and some pictures. Enjoy.

I wonder how it will compare to the STI Costa comp.... That was a sweet and flat shooting pistol.

That is the Firehawk, that has an optional double stack upgrade. I believe there are some other differences as well.

That's what I was thinking.

The new STI's are awesome too, I'd like to shoot both before I order one.

I like them but their new star patterned grip modules are atrocious.

Grips are a personal preference that can be stippled or changed out. STI is duty ready. mil/LEO across the US have approved STI 2011s for duty including special made duty guns for there units. There Sti team is amazing.

I thought Nighthawk can loosen things up for duty carry? I remember seeing that posted somewhere on on a video I watched. I really want a nighthawk in .45 so I may go that route for single stack and STI for 2011. But I will say, this nighthawk is damn sexy. If we were able to get one with looser tolerances for duty/combat pistol i would snatch one up. Those slick slides really are something.

Yeah, there's several guys in my department who are using them as a duty gun. I may make the switch too.
