My daughter, a single woman who lives in Utah, just bought a new Walther CCP M2 9mm. Since Utah is a free state, there's no waiting period. It's the first gun she has actually owned. She wisely concluded that she needed some personal protection.
She is not a total newbie, because we've shot together in the past, but neither is she an experienced handgunner. Guns don't scare her, either. We communicated back and forth about the pros and cons of various makes and models. She went to a large gun store in Salt Lake and handled a number of semi-auto 9s.
She found that this one felt the best in her hand, which is mighty important for all of us. It also has a proprietary recoil reduction system. It has a fixed barrel and the recoil drives a piston attached to the slide. Slide racking is easier than other designs. It's also very "affordable". Once she puts in a little range time with it, I'm confident she'll be able to deliver a less than pleasant welcome to an uninvited guest.
I'd be interested in any opinions and experience with this particular pistol. The M2 is an improved ( 2018), version of the M1.
