HK P2000SK V2 - LEM

In my quest to get back into the CA system, I put my money down on an HK P2000SK V2 in 9mm. I get to pick it up Friday. They assured me that they'll be delivering arms even if locked down. Only time will tell.

My real question is about the LEM trigger of the V2. Having never actually fired a gun with this, I took a chance. Researching, after the fact, shows it's kind of a love it or hate it type of trigger.

I'd like to hear some real world experiences with it. I don't shoot much anymore. That said, I not against putting in some time getting used to it.

Did you not test the trigger if you're wondering? Can I get a little dry fire?

I did test it in the store. But, in truth, it was more of an impulse buy. I went looking for a 229. It's one thing to pull the trigger on an empty gun. It something different to run some rounds through it. I was just hoping for some input from those who have used one.

I really like the LEM trigger. It was a little odd at first, but after a few magazines, I was totally sold. Congrats on the HK.

I've owned the P2000SK in V3 (DA/SA) and V2 LEM.

Hands down, the LEM is worlds better than the V3. That DA press is insanely long and heavy; just what you don't need for 1st shot accuracy. It's comparable to the standard Beretta 92 DA press, but with what feels like a longer travel. The V2 is more similar to a Glock trigger, albeit, a hammer-fired trigger instead of a striker.

If I could find the right deal on a V2 P2KSK, I'd buy it.

I just picked one up too. Haven't shot it yet but I have a light lem trigger on my USP 45 that's really nice. Breaks just under 4 lbs. The P2000SK breaks at just under 6.5 lbs on my Lyman gauge.

I am a fan of the LEM system in my P2KSK. It takes some getting used to, but once you learn you break and reset points its nice.

It took some getting used to going from a DA/SA Beretta 92FS to a P2000. Once I got the hang of the trigger break and reset, I switched to carrying one daily. I have both the full size P2000 and a P2000sk, both in 9mm.

While I shoot the Beretta better during slow aimed fire in single action, I feel I shoot more consistently in a combat course with the P2000. I did change the sights to Trijicon HD Night Sights with the Orange front dots as the Meprolights that came on them were staring to dim.

I have three HK's, all LEM. It's my favorite type of trigger system for a carry gun.

To put it into terms that are understandable by those unfamiliar with a system, the first shot is like shooting a double action revolver, but with a very light trigger. There's a long, light pull. Subsequently, there's a short reset, and then the next shots have a shorter trigger pull. The weight of the pull is exactly the same for all shots. When you release the trigger all the way, the next time you fire will require a longer trigger pull as in the first shot.

For me, I like the elimination of a manual safety that you'd have on a single action pistol. I like the longer trigger pull that you wouldn't get on most striker fired guns.

If you can shoot other double action guns well, you'll have no trouble at all with the LEM. If you can't shoot a double action well, then you'll just need to learn a new skill.

LEM trigger is much better than the traditional DA/SA. I have a P226 (old German made one) and while it is a great pistol, the first shot was always the hardest. Like others have said, the first pull on the LEM is long but very light. I have it on my P2000SK (.40), HK45 and HK45C. The LEM shouldn't be compared with a striker fired pistol like the VP9. Two different trigger systems. You bought a great pistol, but recommend you get the extended magazine release.
