Mounting a red dot on your handgun is easier and less expensive than you may think. Give yourself options with a Sight Mount rear sight.

I've seen this one. If you want something non permanent. They do recommend you do a permanent modification, but i dont think you have to

With out cutting into the slide,
Maybe a plate or something like that, to remove the rear sight and replace it with a plate or mount for a red dot sight.

If so where should I be looking , web site will help.

Wilson Combat and Allegheny Gunworks both will drill it out and insert FO insert. Wilson charges $50 bucks. Josh at Allegheny has been a Beretta gunsmith for years. I believe he also does warranty work for Beretta, and he's also the one that designed the single-sided low profile safety that WC uses for 92 series pistols. Tooltech (I believe they are still around) will drill out the front sight and install a tritium insert. I'm not sure, but I think WC will also do a gold bead insert.

For a red dot, you can mount an "adapter" into the rear dovetail. They are usually RDS dependent (Trijicon, Burris, etc.).

Best bet is to decide what red dot you want, then search for a dovetail adapter for it.

Just FYI, I bought a blem Vertec slide for my M9A1 that has a replaceable front sight.
