Defensive Ammo for EMP 9mm (CA Edition)?

I recently purchased a Springfield EMP and have put around 450 rounds through it so far. It has handled all of the FMJ factory ammo that I have thrown at it but, my first attempt with defensive ammo (Federal Premium Personal Defense) resulted in several jams.

This question is for EMP owners. What defensive ammo do you use in your EMP?

It's a fairly common problem with the EMP. They make them to really tight tolerances. You can either try several brands of defensive ammo until you find which ones work in your gun, or call SA customer service and have them fix it. They will probably ream it out so any ammo will work.

Repairs are no cost and generally take less than two weeks. They even cover shipping.

Winchester Ranger T works good in mine.

Mine is not picky. Currently carrying Sig Elite Premium in it right now. Have carried Hornady Critical Defense and Winchester Train and Defend.

Try different ammo that is more pointed.
Hornady critical defense comes to mind.

Thanks. I will give this a try and if it still jams, off to Springfield it goes.

Mine shoots everything, but I purchased it used. The previous owner had sent it back to Springfield. If you do send it back, have them pin the ejector. Mine started popping up, so I sent it back myself to have it pinned.

                    Will do! Thanks.

If a 9mm gun doesn't reliably shoot 147gr Federal HST, I would resort to using defensive ammo that's shaped similar to FMJ such as Remington Golden Saber, Federal 9BPLE, or Hornady Critical Duty.

Damn man, that's a doosie. I really want to like that gun but that's kind of a big deal.

I use Federal 124 HST. Have shot the Critical Defense also. What ever you decide on make sure you can shoot lots of rounds without a hiccup and your life may depend on it.
