I'm thinking about buying another Glock

I have a Glock 22 RTF2 and I also have a Glock 17 Gen 2. The 17 is used almost none. I think I've fired it twice to about 100 rounds since I got it. I've had it since it was new. I still have all the Tupperware and accessories and manuals as well.

I have a few other 9 mm handguns, but I'm thinking about getting a Glock 17 Gen 3 police trade in because I literally cannot bring myself to use that gen 2.

Am I going nuts? Am I too anal retentive? I'm not sure. I do know there's always a good reason to buy another firearm. What do you think?

Honestly, I'd use it. Are you going to fire 500,000 rounds through it and drag it through the sand and drop it often? If not, it'll be like-new anyway.

BUT if you wait for a G17 RTF run to roll around again, I'd get one of those just to get one. I already have two of those and a G22 RTF, and G22C...

So I vote to buy a bunch more Glocks and shoot the gen2.

BP, can't help but notice that you tend to be attracted to the same sort of things -- a pattern. BREAK THE PATTERN! Instead of another Glock get two new guns of unique persuasion. Trust me. It's the only cure.

Almost all my handguns are polymer frames 9 mm. I would love to have a Colt Detective Special, but those are heavy bank.

I would get a Gen 3 G17 , the new ones have more chamber support than the older models, I rarely ever see bulged Glock brass at the range these days.

every Glock owner needs the original service size G17 in their collection , use it as your range gun and save the Gen 2

Are you embarrassed shooting a gen 2?

Glocks are not collectables and will not appreciate in value. Why would you want to buy a gen3 when you have a gen 2? They will both shoot the same.

Stop being so cheap and enjoy life. You work hard so get something nicer that you will enjoy shooting. Otherwise everything is just going to your kids and they will spend your money traveling.

You really want a Nighthawk 1911 so stop talking about it and just buy one. The 1911 market is soft right now so buy one slightly used and you won't feel like you need to keep it as a safe queen.

If you find the right deal, you can shoot it and if you ever get tired of it, you can probably sell it for around the price that you bought it for. You won't take the big depreciation loss like if you had bought it new.
