    Sig P226 - Need Advice

Hi guys n gals. Im fairly new to the game and grown into liking the Sig 226 version. I currently have 2 on order. My question is, which would be the recommended 10 round magazines to get for a Legion and a Standard Ca 226 Version, yes LCI included? Both DA/SA.
Are they interchangeable? Sorry for the noob questions, just excited and preparing. Thank you all in advance.

    Same

Mags should be interchangeable. Legion ones might have custom floor plates. Sig OEM or Mecgars for your mags. Great guns, have fun, and be safe. Congrats.

New Sig OEM (Checkmate) or MecGar is good to go.

Avoid Promag or the first generation Checkmate mags.

Friends don't let friends waste their money on Promags. Or better yet, buy a few and leave them in your friends range bag, as long as they won't get mixed in with self defense mags. Your friend will be driven mad when only the first round fires correctly each time.

The only difference between the not-so-good first generation Checkmates and the current good ones is that the old not-so-good ones didn't have an anti-tilt follower. The old magazines would bind up sometimes or often, kind of depending on the ammo. You have to take the mag apart and look at the underside of the follower to tell the difference between the two designs. The first generation was back in 2012/2013, so nobody will have any of those in stock anymore. Checkmate fixed the issue and their new mags are perfect.

It realistically means that if you buy used mags, go Mecgar only. For new mags, Checkmate or Mecgar are both good to go.

The best mags are factory standard cap mags blocked to 10 rds. I hate the new short body mags. You could also try and find some old 10rd full body mags with dimpled sidewalls.

Another vote for mecgars... I run them in both my Sigs..without a hiccup.

Thank you. That was very kind for you to say. Little fun fact: The Legion I have coming is from a peace officer. I'm just now realizing ( and thought it was sorta neat ) that my first firearm served on duty for people and the public.

Sig OEM worked fine for me, but people swear by Mecgars for 10 rounders.

That’s upsetting. I have a p226. The empty mag was stuck and had to be driven out, just as that message described.

In addition, the POS LCI failed due to part of it snapping off from normal use.

Both CA-required “safety” features which make an otherwise outstanding tool UNSAFE.

                            Very frustrating.

Thank you for this info. I have since backed out of the Ca version and focus my search on the Blackwater.
