I own 5 glocks, and 4 XDs but for sake of comparison I prefer my subcompact Xd over the G 26.The mag release is so much easier to push compared to the more flush Glock. So the XD i can load faster, correctly in pitch black conditions. XD is my daily carry.

Should I sell the XD9? Stick with one platform?

Shooting multiple platforms is part of the fun.
Yes, guns are fun.

I can pickup any Glock, cz, 92, m&p, or 1911 and shoot them well inside 10 yards. Admittedly that's pretty short range, but I can't shoot xd's well on first grab. After a few mags I can manage, but there's something weird about xd's.
I'd sell the XD, but I'd get another non Glock. Nothing wrong with multiple platforms.Comment

I've shot XDs couple of times and they seem to flip more compared to other guns. Sig does that too.I can pickup any Glock, cz, 92, m&p, or 1911 and shoot them well inside 10 yards. I’m debating selling the XD9. Ive have it about 3 months about 1000 rounds. I’ve got the PRP trigger on it and polished internals. Ameriglo CAP sights and some nice grip tape. I like it, but recently I bought a G19 and they are really different.
I’m wondering if I should stick with one platform and get a G17. So transitioning between the two pistols will be more natural and hopefully get better faster.
The downside of this is that I’ll be pigeon toeing myself into one platform. Recently, I started taking only one gun to the range at a time because switching back and forth didn’t seem very productive.
Let me know your thoughts.

Sell XD it’s trash. Or give it away, I gave away the XD9 I had.NRA Lifetime Member

If the Glock works well for you, I'd sell the XD and buy another Glock.
I'm not a fan of the XD's grip safety. When doing one handed racking drills to simulate an injured hand, the grip safety proved to be a liability.Originally posted by G. Thanks guys.
So I think I’ll keep it. It’ll be the workhorse gun. I’ve trained with it this far might as well nail down the fundamentals. Went to the range today and I’m slowly feeling better about the XD. Relaxing the trigger hand and such my grouping is getting tighter.
Just concerned about my grip. On the G19 my grip is pretty stable but with the XD I always have to regrip. Just gotta keep at it. I’m only 1300 rounds in and 3 months, I’m suppose to suck.
Thanks againComment

Need more practice
Here’s the comparison from last week. G19 is the one with the red shot out. This is at 7 yards.
This week was a bit better.Last edited by Nis14; 03-03-2020, 2:06 PM.Comment

Don't waste ammo (I should know - I did it when I first started out)... You should make each round count. Practice with intent.
Try a very specific drill - check out the Training forums for ideas.
Personally, I would first practice with 2-inch circle targets at 3-yards. If you get that all in and are confident you could do it cold - then push it to 5-yards...
Then, only then would the target be pushed to 7-yards, then 10-yards. Rather than going straight to 7-yards, unless you're just plinking for fun.
Enjoy! And shoot safe!
