Sig P229 in DAK?

Yes, I have one in 40SW, I gave $425 a few years back for a legacy model to a new resident in a PPT. Very accurate for a DAO gun. I converted mine to E2. I run the new style red DAK mainspring and blue recoil spring. The trigger is fine.
I am also running a P-SAIT (Legion) trigger now which is more comfortable and has over-travel stop. I changed the rear sight for one slightly taller (#10) after shooting the group below and now it is dead on at 10yds.

I have Sig P224 (think P229 with much shorter grip) in DAK. I wanted to have a gun with this type of trigger in my collection.
The trigger is very interesting. It actually has 3 different pull weights, believe it or not. It also has two reset points. No matter how you shoot it, it's a very smooth trigger with longer pull, not unlikely Kahr or S&W revolver DA pulls.
The two reset points are there to prevent people from short-stroking during stress. They are both very tactile and you can both hear and feel the reset. The first reset allows you to have a much shorter pull, but at the cost of about double the pull weight. If you reset all the way to the front, you get lighter but longer pull. The third pull weight happens if you go from second reset and pull the trigger partially, to the point that the hammer starts going back and locks in a very slight half-cock position. If you release the trigger and pull through, you get different feel than if the hammer was completely down.
As you shoot, you would normally pull from this last position, with slightly cocked hammer. You have safety against short stroking (hard pull) and you can pull from complete rest, but that can only happen on the second pull if the gun doesn't fire (slide will bring hammer back to the half cock).
Try one to see if you like it...sigpicNRA Benefactor MemberComment

I think Sig will do it. You can also buy the parts and do it yourself.
The last I looked Top Gun Supply had the parts available.Comment

I bought mine as a DAK and converted it myself. There is a list of conversion parts you will need in an easily located google search. Its not that hard to swap over to the conventional DA/SA trigger. That being said... Only get into this if you are a true Sig fan. I am definitely not and purchased it solely for use as a teaching tool for classes. After the infinite combinations of mags, barrels, etc...
I'm over it. But, maybe its your perfect cup of tea!Murphy's Law - What can happen will happen at the least opportune momentComment

I've found over the last decade or so most People either hate DAK or Love it. Not much middle ground.
I've had it in the 239 in 9mm and also one in 40/357sig. Im a fan.
You need to spend some time putting rounds down range you may find out that you will forget about the trigger break and actually enjoy the longer trigger pull and stay focused on your sights/target and the gun will just become seamless in function. Or you will miss the short reset and break and not like it..
Hope you find it a good fit and in 357 sig. I'm about ready to pull the triggeron another 239 DAK...
