M57 Tokarev

Greetings

When firing, my M57 will cycle a round into battery but the hammer does not cock. However, when you rack it by hand, the hammer cocks.

I removed the safety and the problem persisted. My next thought is the ammo is not hot enough. To test this I will have to open a tin can of surplus.

Can anyone with some experience offer advice with this issue?

My first guess would be an under-powered round or an overpowered recoil spring.
