    Blued or stainless?

    Pics would be useful.

    Good luck.

The price Colt Python will be softer when the 2020 Python hit the LGS shelve.

Right now, maybe 22-2500...once the new Python becomes available I’d say 1800

Do a search in the classified ads here and you shall find several similar guns for sale.

There is even one that matches yours almost identically but the DB seller took down all the info. Send them ( or the buyer ) a PM and ask what it went for. Then you shall have your answer.

Price is less than a 1950s or 60s one because they are just not a good. Still excellent but quality was dropping off in the 70s. It won't lose value because of the new one coming out - but may lose some of the buyer base who "just want a Python". The new one is a different animal all together. Only stainless and different SA/DA trigger parts. The new one is a mass produced gun with little or no fitting. The original was Colt's halo handgun and was spared no expense when it was introduced.

Worth a good deal more than a new-jack Python will ever be. Do not listen to anyone who tells you the availability of the new Python will affect the price of yours.

To a Colt Python die-hard and the type of people with the money to buy them, the new Python means jack squat. Those people don’t buy these OG Pythons to shoot them

Anyhow condition is everything and your pics do not show enough detail. Wipe the gun down with a dry microfiber cloth to get rid of all oil and smudges/fingerprints. Take a good, in focus pic of the turn line on the cylinder, and good in-focus pics of the forcing cone, inside of the recoil shield, muzzle crown, and both sides of the gun. Then someone can give you a starting point on price.

You should also look at completed auctions on Gunbroker, comparing guns in similar condition. There is not much CA off roster premium on these because they can be imported and converted to single action for DROS, so only maybe worth a hundred or two more if already in CA.

$2500+. Look at GB sales post Python 2020 release.
The blued samples have not gone down.

Factor in the CA excise tax..

P.s. don't store it with rubber grips or inside the styrofoam.

Check out Gun Broker...prices are all over the place! $1800 to $6K
It all depends on Mfg date, finish, barrel length etc...Beauty is in the eye of the beholder! Good luck!

If the gun and rest of the paperwork is verified as originals, and the gun is in mint condition with no scratches in the finishing, I would not let it go for less than $3k.

If you’re going to check gunbroker, do an advanced search and see what they actually SOLD for. Not what they are listed at with zero bids.

Like Someguy said asking price has nothing to do with sold price. I'm guessing it will sell for around 2200.
