glock 34 slide w/ red dot build

I'm thinking about building a g34 slide w/ a red dot. Besides the obvious barrel and slide itself, are there differences in the rest of the slide's sub-parts between g19/g17/g34? Extractor, firing pin, firing pin block, etc...

Background: gonna buy a BNIB g34 at some point for USPSA production/limited; I want the red dot for USPSA carry optics.

Those parts should all be the same. Only part(s) I can recall are different is the recoil spring assembly. I own a G22/G35/G19/G26 and mostly interchangeable as you mentioned.

I'm all for folks spending their money on what they want to spend their money on, but think about the main reason for a G34 size Glock. Longer sight radius.

      With a red dot, sight radius doesn't help anything. I prefer a G19/RMR combo to a G34/RMR.

And, insert foot for me. HAhaha. Glanced back up and saw the reason for USPSA optics class, and using the same gun for production.

        Disregard what I said.

Not too far off the mark. I currently use a g19 for production; I could get a g19 rmr slide instead, and use freedom week mags. But by buying a g34 I get more sight radius for production/limited, more barrel = more velocity = easier to make power factor with lighter loads, the guys I compete with/against will talk less **** at me for having a proper competition gun ("when are you going to get a *real* gun, Mustard?"), and I get to buy another gun

Oh goodie, I think I might have most of that already on hand as spares. Buy spare parts, kids! Then when you get the hankering to build a new gun, you can cannibalize your spare parts bin and have parts paid for and here and now and ready to go instead of hitting up the LGS/internet and waiting
