I’ve only had the issue when the locking plate is not properly seated with the spring and baseplate. It takes a few times and I find it frustrating at times to set it correctly. I usually open it up and make sure the spring is end of the spring is in the lip of the retaining plate and takes me a few pokes to make sure the locking tab is securely in the hole of the baseplate

Once I think it’s in I bump it with the palm of my hand to see if it unlocks.

In any case I feel your pain. I’ve had to clean a mag a few matches and found my baseplate would work it’s way out during a match caused me a DQ
