Trigger spring question

I was cleaning my M&P and noticed the trigger spring has something in the middle of it. It looks like some dark color fiber. Do anyone know what it is? Should it be there? Thanks!

Yeah, that's normal. There's one in all the M&P's that I've seen (9mm & 45ACP). I'd guess it's some sort of vibration-dampening thing.

That’s exactly what it is I called and talked to Smith &Wesson about that very thing last week.
