    BBQ gun as a shooter?

Being a guy who values utility, I've never really been interested fancy firearms. However, a S&W model 36 Texas Hold Em has recently captured my fancy. Does anyone know how gold inlays hold up if the gun is used as a regular shooter? I suppose, this being California, I don't need to worry about holster wear

On a related note; is $700 NIB a reasonable price...
