    Smolt

Picked this up today from Craig Maraviov. A 6" Smolt built on a Model 66-2.

And a shot with it's siblings...

      Nice collection.

Why doesn't anyone ever combined two of my favorites... F.N. and H&K ?

We just combine the initials and...
        oh, I see. Nevermind.

        But seriously,

        Congratulations OP!

Probably the same reason no one ever merged a CZ with a Glock, or Bushmaster with a Mannlicher, or......well you get it.

Kind of reminds me of wearing a tennis shoe on one foot and wearing a low top leather boot on the other foot.

Nice, where did you get the barrel ?

I wish I could bring that man a project every month. I did a 8" last year.

What's the point of these? Is it just for looks, or are the barrels that much better than OEM?

My 2 favorites will be select fire and suppressor, but that will be like waiting for a blizzard in hell thanks to the draconian laws in Kommiefornia.

Back in the day they were built for PPC, the Python barrel tapers and was thought to be more accurate with the 1:14 twist,

I had an NOS 4" stainless barrel and Craig had the mint 6". So we swapped barrels for the conversion. That 8" is nice. I have a real nice old Model 28 4" that I've been thinking about doing a 6" conversion on.
