Same here. It's a great little gun.

Not to be a buzz kill, but that sounds awfully close to forbidden territory.
It was not a threat. It was an exaggerated response to an uncompromising stance. I was taught never to make a threat unless you are prepared to carry it out and I am not a fan of carrying anything. Even watching other people carrying things makes me uncomfortable. Mainly because of the possibility they may ask me to help.

Nothing to be afraid of. Intrafamilial transfer is a perfectly legal and legitimate way for an immediate family member to gift someone a pistol; as long as the parties follow the letter of the law explicitly and do not engage in a straw purchase.

I've got the HD-CA version as well and it's my favorite for ccw. Shoots fantastic and easy to wear appendix. To be honest, the Bersa actually was more accurate for me, but it's a little bigger. I'll 2nd whoever said if you get one ur gonna want the P938! BTW, I also bought mag-guts internals to add 1 round to each mag. Carrying 8+1. No issues with the mags feeding after modding in case that was the next question. The only thing I don't like is having a safety on a ccw, but that SA only trigger is pretty nice. Oh, and I've tried to convince myself that I need new grips but I just can't. The HD's G10 grips are excellent IMO.

I've zero reliability concerns with my Sig P238 CA approved pistol. It's a pleasure to shoot. It's modelled after the Colt 380 pistol except made better and more reliable.

Have to say even the CA version is a nice carry piece. The safety is very easy to manipulate on the draw like most 1911 style pistols.
The HD is soft shooting and accurate as well.

Another sub compact I'm very fond of is the Kimber Micro 9 shown here vs a Government 9mm.
