    Military 1911's

I have a special fondness for 1911 pistols and military issued ones in particular. I thought I would post up a picture of two of my modest collection of military issued 1911's.

    Top to bottom
1914 made under Colt license at the US Springfield Armory, found on the bottom of a lake in 1961
1917 Colt shipped on 18 April, 1917 to the C/O Manila Ordnance Depot, Manila, PI
1918 Colt shipped on 28 March, 1918 to the C/O Springfield Armory, Springfield MA
    1942 Colt

    Top to bottom;
1943 Ithaca shipped November 1943 to the C/O Springfield Armory, Springfield MA
    1944 Remington-Rand
Colt M45A1 as shipped to MARSOC
Argentine Sistema Mod1927 made under Colt license in 1951 at Fabrica Militar de Armas Portatiles (F.M.A.P.), "Small Arms Factory" in Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina

Norwegian M1914, made under Colt license in Norway at the Kongsberg Arsenal in 1922

Love those original 1911’s - so much class in the older guns, and that Norwegian is gorgeous.

Very nice and something to be proud of. I have a few 1911's and cherish them as well. Nothing like yours.

Amazing collection you have there. The slide stop on the Norwegian gun is pretty cool, I’ve never seen that before.

Very nice! I was lucky enough to get one of the CMP 1911's (Remington Rand) -- holds a special place in my collection.

Very cool photos and details, thanks highpower!!

Did the 1914 era pistol that took a swim have its original grips intact? I'd imagine those wouldn't survive under water but you never know.

What year is the tan M45A1? Looks like it's in great condition.

Grips had turned into mush underwater and it had a set of WWII Keyes grips on it when I got it. I put the walnut grips on as I feel they look better. M45 is 2013.
