    104 years ago.....

I am kind of bored today and thought I would post some of pictures of a couple of guns that were made 104 years ago. With all the talk about the various pistol caliber carbines on the market today, I thought I would remind everyone that the PCC is actually a very old idea.

Top is a 1916 production DWM LP08 with its original holster and accessories. Underneath it is a 1916 Mauser C96, also with it's original accessories.

Drool!!! Very nice Sir and thank you for sharing. Do you take these out occasionally for a little exercise or have they been retired. Beautiful weapons.

I wish I could buy those today for the same price as a Glock.

Beautiful. Both are great examples of the art of hand fitting and finishing.

Beautiful. I wish my C96 and P08 had the original stocks too!

                    Very nice!

I hope you don't store them in the holsters.

I have other shooter grade examples of each, so these matching number guns have been regulated to being safe queens.

The C96 is commonly stored in it's holster because being made of wood it doesn't deteriorate the finish. It's been unchanged since I got it many years ago. the LP08 is hung up on the wall-o-guns like nearly all my other guns. A very few are still in the original boxes.

If I can get off my lazy butt I will try to take a family picture of my German military handguns and my 1911's and post them up.
