So I got my first firearm a few months back. I got an XD9 Service. Grip feels good and the gun is tall enough where I can get a comfortable purchase. I’ve been going to the range consistently and I’m getting more comfortable but have a long ways to go.
My birthday is coming up and I was entertaining the idea of getting a Glock 19. The XD is nice but if I ever get my CCW (I like camping) it’ll be big, heavy, and uncomfortable to carry. The 19 seems like a good candidate.
I don’t plan on getting a CCW for a couple of years. My second kid is coming in a few months so I’ll be on newborn lockdown for a few years.
My question is would it be detrimental for my training to have two platforms. Or should I get better with the XD and then add get a G19’s later. Just spend the funds on ammo and training instead.
I’d love to hear your thoughts. Also please don’t tell me to sell the XD and get a G17. I’ve already grown attached to it. Haha
