Yes, it's kind of forced love. At the time my FIL got his, they weren't allowed to have to have firearms chambered in the same caliber as the military/law enforcement use so no 9mm allowed. Which is for the better as the super has more power.

I wouldn't mind one either. When the FIL passed my son jumped on it like a fumbled football. It's a 5" Gold Cup. My MIL was gonna sell it and my son said no way, that was Grandpa's. Ain't gonna leave the family.

My brother that lives in another state bought a Colt “ jefe de jefes “ 38 super back in 1991. I saw it back then stainless steel with engraving. Just a nice piece. 🙂

I'm puzzled as to why Colt would build a gun tributed to a Mexican drug lord. Google who "Jefe de Jefes" was.

The Mexican cartels must have gotten to Colt 🤣.

Mexicans like the word “ jefe “ it means Boss ~ and we like macho man things and behavior.

If I see a fancy 1911 and in the 38 super round with all that fancy engraving on it - I really don’t care or even think about the drug dude or the cartel - I just like the pistol.

My brother has one, I’ve handled it before and it’s bad arse.

It is what it is ~
