Would have never considered the FN @ ~$1400 (plus the expensive ammo), but the Ruger @ ~$600 or so...…..Hmmmmmmmm. 'Course, I once bought a Tokarev for some of the same reasons. Once.

I looked at the FN 57. It's a nice pistol, but I gotta say, this new offering from Ruger looks nicer to me.

If the Ruger was on the roster, I'd certainly be interested, because I really don't want to pay the "premium".

The Ruger looks exactly like the FN but it's MSRP is $799 and the ambi safety and trigger are better than the FN. Too bad though it doesn't appear to be have a MA or CA version...not surprised.

What's the recoil like on a 5.7 round as I have never shot one? Is there a more common round that it's close or comparable to?

Feels to me like 50% of a 9mm (cheap American Eagle from FN 5.7)

You can buy them on Gunbroker for around $700 ..

I love my FN 5.7 and my PS90.. the 90 is a dream to shoot and to say the round isn't effective against people is just silly. Caliber snobs I tell ya.. lol

What round did the Fort Hood shooter use?

Recoil is low.. at least to me.. a lot of this is due to the blowback design.
