    Ok, 2nd Out-Of-State Question

I may be able to get better deals on CA compliant pistols here. Can I fly one back (in checked luggage of course) when I return?

If you are a CA resident, you can't legally take possession of a firearm out of state. This is FEDERAL law. It will have to be shipped to a CA FFL to do the transfer. So, you'll need to include shipping costs and FFL transfer fees to the cost to see if it's really cheaper than buying it in state.
