Glock Gen 3 Mod 30 Brass to Face

    Hello all!

So, before you tell me limp wristing, I really don't think that is the case. I am holding my weapon correctly, this doesn't happen when I shoot other firearms, I've got a good strong grip.

My model 30 gen 3 keeps sending .45APC casings back at my head, they often hurt... as they slam into my forehead, and this makes me unhappy. I've tried replacing the extractor and the ejector with lonewolf aftermarket parts, which may have slightly improved it, but only slightly, it still happens a lot.

I've put about 450 rounds through it so far of brand, ball, target ammo.

Anyone have any suggestions or similar experiences? Thanks!

Normally, Glock brass-in-the-face references female shooters and brass down cleavages. Since I don't own any Glocks, I've seen a fix but didn't remember the fix.

You should get an answer shortly.

I had a new production 19 and 17 that did this, and stopped around 700 rounds. If the polished parts helped, maybe it's still breaking in.

Rule it out by having someone else shoot it. Does it happen to them?

Not a Glock but my Kimber did this when new.
Back to the factory...They "adjusted" (bent?) the ejector to slightly change the ejection angle.. Didn't replace it. That fixed it.

Pretty common with a G30. Mine did it. Try shooting hot ammo. Light loads seem to have more of an issue than heavy loads.

Just wondering if anyone had a fix for my NIB G30SF that is throwing brass to my face about 15-20% of the time? Made 2/14 Ejector 8196-2 Trigger Bar 4256-2 Have tried: Factory and Wolff 17lb Recoil assembly Federal 230 ammo Atlanta Arms 230 ammo And before someone says it, I am NOT limp...

These seem to be some solutions ^^ . I had the same issue with my 17. Called Glock and told me to run 124+ as 115 weren’t cutting it.

Don’t be offended by the term limp wristing. It is way too generic to effectively describe a shooter not using their hands correctly.
No surprise you wouldn’t have an issue with other handguns. Are they also polymer framed small or compact sized handguns shooting .45 acp?
                    I assume right handed.
As the gun lifts under recoil it will twist slightly. The handgun is operating correctly. If it’s new then this issue should lessen as it gets fired and loosens up.
The handgun being used will allow easier movement (you know, they loosen up) under recoil which will reduce the amount of force needed to make it reliably cycle.
The tighter the handgun the tighter the grip or force will be needed to control it or allow it to cycle correctly.

You will experience proper ejecting without hitting your dome if you bench or ground the handgun in an effort to stabilize it more.
Just lean over a bench and use the mag base as a means to support the handgun upright. Press down upon it as you grip tightly and fire the handgun. Think stretched out over the table top or bench. I have no idea where you shoot so I assume a public range.

                      Typical solutions are as follows:

                      1. Change the ejector to the 40721 (if you have access get the newer gen 5 one which works even better)

                      2. Get the white sound defense HRED (High Reliability Extractor Depressor)

                      3. Get the apex extractor.

Some or all of these should fix the BTF problem.

Do not listen to people talking about limp wristing. While it is an issue for some, certain glocks do have the BTF problem and they can fixed with the above solutions.

My Glock 26 does this from time to time, but it doesn't hurt, just kind of bounces off my forehead. It's my only gun that does this (my only Glock, as well), but I didn't think much of it. Maybe it'll stop eventually like others.
