Something hanging up on the trigger bar. I would examine the trigger bar hump (plunger depressor) and cruciform, make sure they don’t appear damaged or tweaked. Also remove and examine the firing pin safety plunger and spring, clean them and the hole they ride in.

Also make sure the trigger spring is installed properly, not upside down or slipped off to the side. Basically I’d just go through the whole gun

Also see if the previous owner maybe put a ny1 trigger spring in there. Barring any of the suggestion above (good areas to check), putting the ny1 spring requires those steps to disassemble.

Consider sending it to Glock. They have excellent customer service. I had a catastrophic failure on my G36 (not due to anything Glock related, a double charge reload by my shooting buddy) and Glock completely rebuilt it at no charge to me (except for shipping).

The G36 is an excellent handgun, my preferred carry in .45 ACP.
