I don't think you need to go as far as to warranty a replacement slide for a hole into the plunger channel...I just checked some of my slides by Zev, Grey Ghost Precision, and Shadow Systems. All of them have the screw hole open into the extractor plunger channel. That seems normal as long as you use the correct screw length (I believe it's under .390"). The screw is supposed to be shorter on that side. You can grind down your existing screw.

      Good advice.

Best send it to some one who is known for doing accurate work. Problem is that not everyone is good at doing clean and precise metal work. As much as they may want to or think so. The irony is that most metal cutting done on glocks is very basic set up and milling. No molecular engineering, yet many pieces come back sub standard or just plainly eF'ed up.

Two most informative replies. Helpful, thanks.

Glock CS said, "the only way we will sell you a slide is through the warranty, we do not sell slides independent of a pistol. You must send in the damaged slide, we will evaluate ". If I ruined the slide, they will replace, but I need to pay. I think locktite has jammed the extractor punger, so the gun will not function, plunger will not move. If a shorter screw is required over the plunger channel, why do they drill through? I would think proper machining would demand this. I don't assume just because some popular brand does things a certain way it is using best practices. More than likely it's the cheapest method with a fancy package and a bunch of hype. If a Glock MOS slide is drilled completely through, then I will accept it as good practice.

Whatever you do don't send it to Lone Wolf and get the proper info on the screw size over the extractor plunger channel AND the proper use of locktite over the exposed extractor plunger channel. You can get locktite in the channel or maybe ruin the slide or plunger with the wrong screw, either way, ruining Glocks is an expensive hobby. I'll never hack on an original factory slide again, if you have a problem you lower the resale value of the gun with a mismatched serial number on the replacement slide. Not sure if the warranty is completely voided as well.
