    New glock ftf

Never owned a Glock, so I bought a 26. Went to the range today with some PCM and HST. Every clip 5 of the PCM had ftf and some ftes. Shot 2 clips of the HST and no problems. I guess the results are obvious, but I want to find some cheaper ammo to shoot. Any suggestions? I'm in California so mail order is out. Is it the load or bullet weight or just the round?

Could be that the magazines with the PCM are underpowered ammo or just duds. Could also be light primer strikes. Check the primer and see if the primer looks only partially dented.

Was this Failure To Feed, or Failure To Fire, or both?

My Glock 17 likes Federal 115 gr FMJ. It shoots various weights of Federal HST just fine.

My Glocks eats everything I throw at it, except a few reloads/handloads I bought. With that ammo I too was having FTFeed/Fire.

OP, did you apply any lubrication in the striker channel? If you did, disassemble the the slide and clean it all out; no lube in the striker channel at all (or the plunger!)

Was this a new stock purchase or a used G26?

Is this your first gun, or first time shooting? There is a learning curve, especially with the not normal grip angle of the glocks

Well, the use of "clips" in Glocks will cause problems every time. Oh, and limp wresting a Glock is the most probable cause for failure to feed.

              First, thanks for all replies.

"limp wresting a Glock is the most probable cause for failure to feed", What??? how is that possible???? I don't understand.

This is my first glock not first handgun. FTF I meant failure to feed. All rounds fired once chambered.

I didn't lube the weapon because everything looked clean and felt so.

And the primers were struck on all the rounds, like I said all rounds fired once chambered. I guess the PCM just aren't good for this gun??

You really need to hold on to that little G26.. I haven't had any problems with mine, but others have found it requires a firm grip, or you get feed problems.

Not complaining about it. I have shot glocks, and did just fine. I have also shot 1911s, my xd9, m9s shotguns, AR15s. Not everyone has the same experience. I just don't like the glock grip angle as much as others.

Just to note, also haven't had issues, no ftf or otherwise, etc in any of the thousands of rounds I have fired.

The subcompact Glocks like the G26 are prone to limp wristing, the 26 more than others due to the weak 9mm cartridge. Google limp wrist Glock on YouTube. This is your problem. Stock Glocks don’t FTE or FTF, they get limp wristed.

You need to lubricate. Glocks are not “magic” weapons with forever self lubrication!

Don’t need much...but you need a drip of oil on the rails and a skim of oil around the barrel lockup.

When I obtained my G17 in May of 18, I had not fired a handgun in many years, and had never fired a Glock.

During my first few sessions I was experiencing FTF's until a friend pointed out that I was limp wristing. It took a lot of shooting and concentration to get the grip on my gun "just right" for my hands.

With regard to lube on a Glock: As pointed out by Dave Hoback, you don't need much, but the gun should not be run dry. The Glock owner's manual should show you the lube points and the amount--mine does.
