    best night sights?

I'm sure this has been answered many times over... but can't find it by search. I'm looking for night sights for my XD40. Any thoughts on Trijicon vs Meprolight (or any others?). Suiting up my first handgun, any advice appreciated.

I like the Meprolight. They seem to be bigger and brighter do to the size. All the Trijicons I had, the light diameter seems smaller and dimmer.

I used both Trijicon and Meprolight, I prefer the meprolight. Meprolight is brighter in the long run.

I recently installed Xssight big dot on my Glock and I am really impressed. Needs to get use to the sight line.

i have trijicon on my glock, they're decent, but not as bright as the meprolights i've seen.

TRU-GLO TFO; Meprolight & Trijicon are all exceptional night sights. I like the TFO's because they are a hybrid design: fiber-optic green for lighted conditions / Tritium for the dark.

XS sights are worth checking out.

I've never used them myself, but I've heard from others who have the XS Big Dots that they obscure too much of the target. One of them had need to unholster his weapon on someone and said he would not have been able to make a clean shot (there were two people involved). They are fast, but for a very specific purpose.

My personal favorite so far combining speed and accuracy are the Heinie Slant-Pro Straight Eight. It is a two dot setup, but the front dot is slightly larger and has a silver ring around it so day or night, your eye is drawn to the front sight. I've got these sights exclusively on my XD's (and on my Nighthawk).

Had the on a HK USP, awesome sight, extra bright in the daytime and nice good glow at night. Plus I think they look cool, lol.

Mepros are easier to see in the dark.

I really like the XS 24/7 Big Dot sights that I have. Very bright front dot and back post.

Thanks for all the awesome info... I love the power of information.

Has anyone found issues with fit on the weapon? IIRC I read a post somewhere about a sight (Trijicon?) not seating flush on the XD.
