I'm sure this has been answered many times over... but can't find it by search. I'm looking for night sights for my XD40. Any thoughts on Trijicon vs Meprolight (or any others?). Suiting up my first handgun, any advice appreciated.

Meprolight
I would go with meprolight. They work great on my glock!Comment

TRU-GLO TFO; Meprolight & Trijicon are all exceptional night sights. I like the TFO's because they are a hybrid design: fiber-optic green for lighted conditions / Tritium for the dark.

I also prefer Meprolight to Trijicons.Comment

I've never used them myself, but I've heard from others who have the XS Big Dots that they obscure too much of the target. One of them had need to unholster his weapon on someone and said he would not have been able to make a clean shot (there were two people involved). They are fast, but for a very specific purpose.
My personal favorite so far combining speed and accuracy are the Heinie Slant-Pro Straight Eight. It is a two dot setup, but the front dot is slightly larger and has a silver ring around it so day or night, your eye is drawn to the front sight. I've got these sights exclusively on my XD's (and on my Nighthawk).Comment

+1
Had the on a HK USP, awesome sight, extra bright in the daytime and nice good glow at night. Plus I think they look cool, lol.I think it can be confirmed that an alien xenomorph is absolutely no match for good ole' Alabama black snake!

If you're in a survival movie and the hot blond twists her ankle and can't walk, you damn well figure a way to carry her. If it's a dude, you shake his hand and say "best of luck".Comment

Thanks for all the awesome info... I love the power of information.
Has anyone found issues with fit on the weapon? IIRC I read a post somewhere about a sight (Trijicon?) not seating flush on the XD.Comment
