Inside The Back Pocket

I really like pocket pistols for their convenience. Started putting one in my back pocket for around the house, and its very comfortable, easy to access, secure and convenient. With a slightly longer jacket, it would be completed concealed.

Any reason why I shouldnt carry it this way every now and then? I have no intention of carrying it this way outside the home or my place of business.

If I'm just going out to the front of the house that's how I carry my 442

As long as it's comfortable and easily accessible, why not? A lot of folks also back pocket carry outside the house, usually with a good wallet holster.

That hackathorn video is on the mark. Decent drill that you should be able to do. 2.5 sec is a ton of time.

If you are going to carry a gun for serious confrontations, it should be bigger than a .380. It should not be your first "go-to" gun but rather a hideout.

I am 67, live on 14 acres in the boontoolies and carry regularly around the house and on the property, but it is not a mouse gun.

In 1992 I bought (in a private sale) an AMT Hardballer .45 Covina manufacture for $150 with two stainless factory mags and Pachmayr grips. Before you go off on a tangent about how bad AMT guns are and how Covinas were made of softer stainless steel, I replaced the thumb safety, sear pin, hammer pin, extractor, hammer strut, and sear with blued carbon steel parts. I also throated the barrel and it will accept all manner of HP ammo.

It has been my CC/HD/Truck gun for over 25 years. It ain't purty by any means but it runs well.

In my old age I wear suspenders with no belt due to back problems. I have added a Clip-Draw to the right side of the pistol and carry it at 4-o'clock on the right side, always with an open shirt over it. It fits very securely on my jeans waistband, and since I don't run it stays put. It does not mar anything it comes in contact with, and I can drive a car/truck without it being in the way of anything.

As long as you are comfortable drawing in that fashion and the firearm you are using is one that you are comfortable hitting your target with, there should be no real problem. What works for some won't be the best for others, but as long as you yourself are willing to place your life on it, I say go for it.
