GSG 1911 .22 two week update

I'm still enjoying it. The finish chips off pretty easily.

So far I've changed the sights to Dawson Fiber Optic, flat checkered main spring housing, Ed Brown trigger, checkered front strap insert, and removed the series 80 and mag safeties.

Pretty much the same thing I do on every 1911 over ever owned. It's a fun little gun.

Conversion to what? I'm waiting on an EGW bushing, and I'm done.

        Thanks for the report!

I haven't put the Dawson sights on mine yet. Mine shoots about 2" high and 2" right from point of aim @ 10 yards. Groups are OK.

Pretty sure it's the gun and not me at this point, as I can get consistent bullseyes with my Springfield XD Tactical at the same distance.

Once I get it dialed in it'll be great.

Yeah, mine's about two inches to the left. That's why I ordered the EGW bushing.

I have no problem shooting my SA 1911, my Para 1911, or my double action only revolvers, so I don't think it's me.

I managed to adjust the stock sites to do pretty much dead on at 7 yards. At 25 I get about a 5" circle. I can live with that from a cheap gun. It is a blast to shoot and easy/fast to reload the mags, I should have got one of these years ago.

If my CW bushing keeps causing those slide hangups I might order what you have. Can you link me to the one you bought?

Sure, you have to measure the outside diameter of your barrel with a caliper, then the inside of your side, then call them.

My barrel was .550 and my slide was .703

Get involved, let's fix these 2nd Amendment misunderstandings.

It's not the size of your gun that counts, only the fun factor...
