If its 100% factory (no mods, trigger job, etc.), in excellent plus condition and you have the fatory box numbered to the gun, all papers, tools, etc....$500 to $600 IMHO.

Very very uncommon to see in California. I haven’t even seen them much on gunbroker lately outside of CA. I’d say in good condition it would be worth we’ll north of 1,000. If I were selling it here I’d probably list it for like 2,000. Even though it’s a newer Smith, “older” Smiths have been going for a good price these days. Even later models 10s and 19s are listed for 700-900. I’d keep it if I were you.

I appreciate all the input everyone! Shot it last weekend before even considering if it should leave the safe or not. It’s a shooter alright! It has some minor imperfections and the coin size rust area as shown in the photo. But overall not the worst condition. Looks like I’ll be keeping it for now.

That seems like an ideal gun if you ask me. One you can shoot or run a class with if you wanted to, without feeling weird about putting rounds through a pristine gun. You can appreciate the weird extraction and firing mechanism. Dudes are like “no you must mean a 38... 9mm is an auto round” or “no, you would need moon clips to run auto rounds in a pistol, or else pluck cases out manually...”

To me that’s one of those keep and pass down guns. Particularly if you bought it on a whim cheap in the early 90s from a store that had ordered one and no one ever bought, then you meant to dump it for four hundred bucks over the years but never got around to, and suddenly the grand kids realize it’s exceptionally rare, and sell it to a collector for 20k years from now. But hell then again CA might ban handguns or weapons chambered in military rounds :-)

PS: HKS made speedloaders specifically for it that you can find sometimes.
