Socal FFL for Intra Familial Transfers? (Not Sharpshooters)

Does anyone know of a good FFL in the LA/OC area that will handle intra-familial transfers? My father, who lives out of state, would like to send me a handgun that is not on the roster.

I usually use Sharpshooters in Torrance for my FFL needs, but they have never heard of this.

Details of what this is can be found here:

Thanks! Do you know what those guys charge for transfers? I'm used to $75, which includes the DROS.

If your father could physically bring it to you, there is no need for an FFL. Just this form: http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/forms/pdf/oplaw.pdf

That's all the FFL is going to do anyway. Actually, if I receive a handgun in the mail, I have to log it in. Once it is in my inventory, I do not think I could only put a form in the mail and just hand you a non-rostered handgun. I would be uncomfortable with that for auditing purposes.

My advice would be to get it from Dad face to face, fill out the form, and relax. Only $19 and no hassle.

I am always looking for Beretta D models in 9mm or a Compact Type M.

BTW, if you do use an FFL, go here. Great place.

incorrect. That would be a violation of federal law. There is no intrafamily exemption to the requirement that unlicensed residents of different states must use an FFL in the recipient's state to facilitate the transfer.

No, you would DROS it to the recipient and do the 10-day wait. It would be DROSed as a roster-exempt transfer.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

                I've been misinformed.

                Thanks for the head's up.

Can't find an FFL to do the transfer.

Don't mean to Hijack the thread but does anyone know of a FFL in the LA area that is aware of the exemption and will do the out of state transfer?

I have tried numerous FFL's (entreprise, ammo bros, gun runners) and none will do it.

They all say next time I see my Father to get it and bring it into CA and fill out the form.
