    Glock 19 Grip

Just got a Great Deal on a Glock 19 Gen 3 (Thanks David) to replace the one my oldest daughter Stole, and would like to have the front grip finger grooves removed (don't trust my shaky OLD hands), anyone have it done Painlessly? If so please comment on Who & IF you like the job they did..

I would rather pay someone with steady hands rather than me ruining the whole grip... lol

I would think that with shaky hands the finger grooves might help...

I know for some, sometimes the finger grooves don't match up to the size of our hands causing them to be very difficult to use/utilize as they were meant to be.

LOL, shaky hands don't help removing the finger grooves.

I thought there was a recent thread a member posted of them doing this very thing and it came out very nice. I’m having trouble finding it now, so I’m wondering if it was maybe on another forum.

            *****

Never mind found the thread here: https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/...groove+removal

Might not hurt to get in touch with the OP and ask some questions before you discount you doing it your self.

You planning to re-texture and stipple the whole thing or just remove the finger grooves on the front?

It's Glock perfection for me, the finger grooves fit perfect, no other pistols I have point naturally like the Glocks.

I borrowed a dremel from a buddy at work and filed the grip myself. Took about 10 minutes. I don't plan on selling my G19 so I don't care that it isn't a professional job and might look lame to most people.

I am glad that an "off the rack" G19 fits me.

Should have bought a Gen 5. In addition to no finger grooves, you get a shorter reach frame, better grip texture, better RSA, barrel and trigger system, flared magwell, and modular backstraps. In the end it would have cost the same or less.

It might be more economical to keep your eyes peeled for a Gen 2, check the local shops consignment areas or find one from the online auction sites. Unless you really need that rail, then I suppose the $900 Gen 5 Glock from a private sale is the only way to go.
