Glock 34 and 35 compatibility

So I;ve seen that converting a Glock 35 to shoot 9mm only needs a conversion barrel...

But what about a Glock 35 with a 34 slide? Im buying a 35 but I like the zev tech slides, which they only sell completed slides in the 34... can i buy the 34 slide and put it on my 35 frame and shoot .40 cal? Thanks!

No. You cannot put a G34 slide onto a G35 and shoot 40. There is no 9 to 40 conversion barrel. There's only 40 to 9 conversion barrels.

However, you can swap complete uppers. As long as they're the same generation, swap slides.

But in your case, limiting yourself to Zev Tech, you're out of luck. Look for another make which produces .40 slides.

No. The .40 is a 10mm in diameter. There wouldn't be enough steel for a 9mm to .40 conversion barrel. There would hardly be any steel. The barrel walls would be super thin and likely blow apart.

The face on the slide is larger on the 35 and the extractor is cut for the 40. You can run a 9 barrel and get lucky like I do and have no extraction issues but you run that risk. A simple extractor change fixes it.

I guess you could probably take a G34 slide and mill out the parts of that keep a 40 barrel from fitting.

Why not?

You can put a complete 34 or 35 upper on a G17, so you should be able to put a 34 slide on a 35.

Yes...you can use the Gen3 35 frame for a Gen3 34 slide.

G34 slide will have a 9mm barrel, and 9mm ejector should be installed into the frame.
And obviously use 9mm magazines.

That's it. That's all that needs to be done.
