    Kahr K9

So I've been looking for one of these for a while now and I haven't had any luck finding anyone who wants to sell one or trade for one. So I was wondering how many people in ca actually own one of these beautiful handguns? If you are the lucky owner of one please post pics so I can drool And hopefully it'll encourage me to give in and purchase one off gunbroker.

    He seems to like it...

            Lunde's picture

I don't own a K9, but do have a MK9. You asked for a K9 picture, and Lunde has published a number of them on his website, including the one below:

Well, I guess I cannot post a photo of one, because someone already did that for you.

Here is another view, which I like a lot:

Mine is the Elite 2003 version with factory night sights. The Elites have a few subtle refinements that the standard K9 does not have, including a very nice trigger (smooth, crisp, and relatively light). It was a "buy once, cry once" thingie for me.

In many ways, the K9 can be considered Kahr's finest pistol. Sure, it is all-stainless, which means a little extra weight, but its compact size and thin profile make up for that. And, ergonomics are excellent for such a small pistol.

I own five Kahrs in total: K9 Elite 2003, MK9 Elite 2003, CW9, PM9, and P45. Although this can change on a daily basis, my current preference is as follows: P45 (what can I say, I am fond of .45 Auto), K9 Elite 2003, PM9, MK9 Elite 2003, then CW9.

I ordered the factory wood grips for them, which are probably made by Hogue. I didn't like them much. The factory grips of the K9 have a rubber-like feel. Those of the MK9 feel more like polymer, in that they are less soft, but definitely thinner.

If you end up deciding on a PM9 or MK9, the Pearce magazine extensions are quite nice. Here is my PM9 wearing one:

                No K9, but I have a PM9, and it's my favorite sub-compact by far.

I strongly recommend that you spring for the Elite 2003 version, and while you're at it, also specify night sights. It is cost-effective to buy it with the night sights already installed.

                      God I miss my K40

Should never have sold it. Best damn little gun I had. Used to carry it around the house and take it with me on trips out of town. Small yet had a big bite. My G27 just is not the same. My K40 was so sexy.

                      I will own another

I keep a look out for used Kahr's but have not yet found one. When I do, I will most likely buy it.

Why did you want to know that I eat glue?

I've got a K40 Elite '03 that I LOVE. Somewhere on here is a review that I wrote for it a few years ago...

                            Noted...

I just bought a CW9 I found on consignment (at Turner's no less- they actually had a gun for sale) so I'm kind of in Kahr mode right now.

There are far worse "modes" to be in at the moment.
