    CZ 97B Single Action conversion....

Wondering if anyone here has this done?

I was considering the deluxe package at CGW, but I don't really need DA in this gun. I use this gun as a range toy and for home protection. So I'm considering the bushing and SA conversion instead. It'll be a similar price.

Any opinions, caveats or insulting remarks on my planned adventure?

I had the 1911 bushing conversion done on my 97B...it's awesome!
You've got me thinking about the SA conversion, mines just a range toy.

A lot of CZ owners do the SA conversion, I say go for it. CGW doesn't disappoint.

Unless you really like a flat SAO style trigger simply converting to SAO dose not offer that much benefit over a DA/SA configuration. Removing the Firing Pin Block is required for the full benefit. It allows a significant reduction in the reset distance as well as a reduction in the overall trigger travel with the use of the pre and over-travle set screws available in some of the SAO triggers.

To be clear, i am not suggesting that you should not convert to SAO. Plenty of folks do it just for the flat SAO style trigger. Plenty of folks also seam to expect significant improvement from SAO conversion alone and this is not the case. SAO conversion alone just deletes the DA and allows for an SAO style trigger.

        I agree with Tok.

I love the TS trigger so I converted my SP-01 to SAO.

Thanks for pointing out the difference. Very helpful!

I had my Springfield Armory P9 converted to single action, but that was 30 plus years ago. I didn't know people still shot them.

I converted mine to SAO. CGW did the work. Removed the firing pin block also to achieve less than 2# trigger pull and very little take up and reset. Also did the 1911 barrel bushing. Shoots like a dream. Very accurate. 97 is pictured on the right next to my tac sport.

Cajun Gun Works. It is one of the two major CZ tuning shops that that offers parts for and works exclusively on CZ (and some CZ clone) pistols.

CZ Customs in Arizona is the other one.

                      ……
                      I did it by myself:
                      - DA/SA convert to SA ONLY. Just need a punch to punch out a pin on the disconnector and a "gut" to do it.
                      - Install the flat trigger, bought it when CZ Costume had it on sale eight buck a pop.
                      - Spring set to reduce the trigger weight, the cheap set on …… don't remember where, but for sure it was not CGW set, could be on Ebay (?) or Wolff (?).

Did the modification and shoot it for a short time until I bought the CZ TS then my CZ75B becomes a "safe queen" together with his brothers CZ75PCR and CZ83.

Did you remove the block or did David do it? He just wrote me that he would not remove any factory safety device.
