CZ SHADOW 2 FAIR PRICE?
Tags: None -
$2100 to $2500 unmodified plain jane S2 is what most are asking in Calguns.
But I bet as the DWX comes out in the first quarter of 2020, S2 prices will drop somewhat, then some more as it no longer remains the "it" gun.

Seen em as low as $1800 when people need them moved, when they've got other projects coming due.
But yes. Prices may come down when the Wesson gets out into the world.
If you like the idea of a S2 but not the price, a SP01 with a trigger job, short reset and some CGW/CZC parts will set you back a bit less and give you most of the functionality.

I think you can still negotiate a $2,300 price for a new S2. And also depends on seller's situation - could be trying to raise funds, lost interest, saw a nice 1911, etc.
Early this year, I posted my BNIB S2 with all original paperwork plus 10 round mags for 2300 asking price but sold it for less than that; I might have got more but needed cash for a project.Comment

I just looked up what the DWX is...
Awesome. Might affect demand of STI 2011 style pistols as well.Comment

The DWX looks to be retail priced at $1800 in free America. I can only imagine the CA mark-up when they get here. Kind of expecting that the demand is going to be high so might be a long wait before you see a DWX in CA.Comment

I got my S2 for $2100. The seller, great guy nonetheless, had no ratings and he was itching to get the Orange.

$1800 is the lowest I have ever seen them and they have been few and far between at that price. Still kicking myself for not taking the BNIB one I was offered at $1800.
So in CA $2k would be a deal, $2200 average and $2400 kind of high. $1800 is a steal.Comment

Probably. I thought the DWX looked really nice. But, it is all steel and I do not want an all-steel gun for carry/duty use, but I guess the DWX is not intended for that.
The STI with the polymer bottom to me, is still the perfect blend of metal and plastic and its reputation for accuracy and reliability (to a certain extent), it will be hard to beat.
For competition though...I think the chance favors the better shooter, not the better gun

There's one in the MP now for $2k. Plenty to be had at that price point. No need to pay more unless you *need* it now... Or it's the blue gripped model or the urban whatever.
And I ♥️ the DWX... Looks like the best parts of the Shadow 2 and STIs put together in one package.

Problem with the DWX is that unless you are just a CZ fanboy, that gun is only useful for USPSA Limited competition since it is single-action only.My friends and family disavow all knowledge of my existence, let alone my opinions.Comment
