    Mac,Uzi Etc. vs. Handgun?

So what's the difference between a Mac, Uzi style weapon and a handgun with an extended 33 round magazine? Longer barrel/better accuracy maybe? Just looks "evil-er"?

Real MACs and UZIs were originally open-bolt bullet hoses.

      Now? Looks.

Looks, both semi auto, and sadly in CA if its not reg the uzi pistol or mac pistol will only be able to hold 10 rounds...thats 10 rounds in a big, ugly sheet metal with crapy sights (Even if you owned pre bans and pistols had no threaded barrels) , or 10-30 rounds from a egronomical small /medium size handgun ,

          Just looks.

Should have clarified again, assuming there is no hi-cap law.

That's kinda' what I thought, the handgun is more concealable and probably more accurate.

Just curious if I was missing something. Not sure why people are shelling out big $ for the CA legal "Macs" etc. Especially with the capacity law.

Don't get me wrong they're still super cool and I'd take one if I could afford one, but they're not at the top of my list.

they are nice because of the shrouded bolt, on a glock or conventional pistol you have a large reciprocating slide which means you can't be as creative with how you hold/fire the gun

Open bolt Mac's are a compleatly different animal than the closed bolt variants.

                very very awesome.
