    DROS'ed a Steyr M40 today

Look what I just bought from Wes today! I was looking for an ambidextrous friendly 40 S&W without that long, mushy, glock trigger pull and bingo, a 1/8" travel safety trigger set at 5 Lbs from the factory.
    10 days to go.

I'm ignorant - whatever happened to the news that these guns were being discontinued? Not that there's anything wrong with them - but I thought I read somewhere that they were not going to be made any longer.

I always though Steyr had weird looking guns, but I can't complain about their quality and workmanship. In any case, they definetley set themselves a part to be "unique."

For you steyr owners you can pick up extra mags from CDNN for $10 a piece.

The only complaint I have about the M40 are the sights. As Lunde also said, I do not care much for the sights. It seems you need to put the very tip of the triangle on the place you want to hit. That was my experience anyways. The double stack magazines are a b*tch to load too btw if you don't have strong fingers.

I've always liked the Steyr M series, and I love the latest revision... I may pick up a M9-A1 sometime in the near future...

I used to think the back of the slide where the hand sweel curves out wildly was the most ugly part of the gun; until I realized that probably 99% of the people who get slide bite will not have to worry about it now. Pretty nice looking weapon, and I wouldn't mind owning one if I had the money (or rather if it wasn't set aside for other projects already).

I actually got the Steyr M40 A1. Here it is with the three $10 factory mags from CDNN:

                          They're great handguns. Enjoy yours.

                          This is mine . . . .

I got to shoot one of those last week and was very surprised at how little felt recoil there was! The triangle sights weren't too hard to work either.

I'm thinking it might be my next handgun...

This is really all the antis have? I suppose they expected the second amendment to list full names and social security numbers!

How much are the M40-A1 going for?

How is it comparable to a Glock?

                              How's the triangle site?

I am interested in one, only own SIG's , want to add a polymer.
