The Glock finger grooves don't fit me. I had to do something about it and today I finally found myself alone and instantly started the project. I got two clamps, frogtape, bunch of sandpaper and a sheer will and determination.
It took me a little more than an hour to completely remove and polish both finger grooves on my 20SF. I started with 220 grit followed by 400, 600, 800, 1000 and 2000. Visually I am happy with the result. It makes a ton of difference in hand and I love it.
Now, after I am done with that it got me thinking:
1. Should I attempt to do the trigger guard undercut as well? I think it is a lot more demanding job and with a lot more room for error. I don't think I can do it freehand as I did with the finger grooves. I think I will need a dremel tool with a sandpaper wheel with a specific diameter. And I will need different sandpaper grits for that wheel. Anyone has any info regarding the right wheel size for that job?
2. It seems to me that if I did the trigger guard undercut first I might not have needed the finger grooves removal job since my fingers will shift a little upwards and they will no longer sit on top of the finger grooves. Do you think there will be a benefit of doing the trigger guard undercut considering that I already massively improved the comfort of my grip? Is it worth going that route?
