I sold my centerfire Dan Wessons but still have my .22 rimfire. You need to make sure the ejector rod is screwed all the way into the ejector housing. I seem to remember it is reverse threaded, so you tighten it by turning counter-clockwise, not clockwise. (It might be the other way around.) If the ejector rod backs out, it will bind up the crane making it difficult to open or close the cylinder. It may also cause the cylinder to bind.
If you are used to shooting Smith & Wesson revolvers, Dan Wesson and Colt revolvers seem odd because the cylinder rotates the other direction.NRA Life Member

My crane would bind up from time to time. I had to take it apart and clean it like crazy. What a turd of a gun. I'm surprised so many people are fans these days. When I had mine in the 70's and 80's I never met anyone that thought they were worth a damn.Comment

I remember them too. Should be four barrels in the set.Made in Monson, Mass... those are considered to be the best. You can occasionally find them listed on eBay or other sites.
There is a forum dedicated to them - Dan Wesson Forums. Lots of good info there, and helpful owners.
I have a .357 and .44 pistol pack. Bought the .44 new back in the day. They are great shooters, and were responsible for a lot of competition wins back in the day.
