Springfield XD-40 4" as a duty weapon.

So I'm switching to the XD40 as my on-duty carry, if I can find a holster for it.

I know there are people out there carrying them, but does anyone carry it with something *other* than the SafariLand "Raptor" style level-2 holster?

That particular SafariLand seems to be the only mainstream holster for the XD's, when ideally I'd like to go with a Bianchi AccuMold or something...

So, if you're carrying it, what holster are you using?

I'm a big fan of the Bianchi AccuMold's. Very tough for day to day use and I like the way they hold the pistol. It hold it firmly, yet lose enough to make unholstering and reholstering easy.

Yeah I am too, but they don't seem to make one for the XD. The only holster I can find (by the big company's anyway, Safariland, Bianchi, etc), is that Safariland "raptor" style which I'm not too fond of.

Or does Bianchi make an AccuMold for the XD that I just don't know of?

Holsters for a glock might just fit the XD too. I'll be able to tell you if they do Thursday.

Appreciate the offer. I checked that already though! The XD is a little wider than the GLOCKS and it causes the holsters, especially Level-II or higher level holsters, to hang up and not let it seat properly.

Really? Even with a Glock 21 holster? I know the small frame glocks like the G17 and G19 are thinnner then the XD but The G21 (45ACP) is very wide and should be a little begger then the XD.

Didn't think about that. If you have access to a 21 holster, check it out and let me know if it fits. Just send me a PM or just reply to this thread. If you forget or don't get around to it, no big deal, I just don't have immediate access to a GLOCK 21 holster.

According to GLOCKS website the 21 is 1.27" wide at its widest point. According to specifications on the XD, it's 1.28" at its widest point, so it may just fit in a GLOCK 21 holster!

Accumolds are great holsters.

I had this same sort of problem when looking for holsters for my Browning Pro-9, which has absolutely no accessories made for it. I ended up going down to the Sportsmans Warehouse and they were kind enough to let me try out the different holsters on one of their display handguns. I found that the SW-99/P-99 holster fit like a glove.

You're probably best going down to the store and trying that method.
