Sorry if this has already been touched on, I've scoured the internet but cannot find a definitive answer. Would my father be able to gift me a stripped ar pistol lower from out of state?

I believe so, but it may need to be completed into a CA compliant arrangement.
I’m not certain, but a stripped is okay PPT in state, but only completed pistols can be DROS’ed when brought in IFT.Originally posted by ysr_racerPlease don't bring logic and reason into an interwebs discussion

We sell single shot ar pistols, it would probably be easier for you. Alternatively yes, but it would have to be assembled as a pistol

Just pick yourself up a Franklin Armory CA7 bolt action. It is on-roster. [This one is slighty modded.] 20190711_231043.jpg"It is currently CA legal to modify a double-action revolver into a single-action revolver and modify a single-action revolver into a double-action revolver.
CA DOJ BOF stance on modifying handguns only applies to dimensionally compliant bolt-action single-shot pistols and dimensionally compliant break-open single-shot pistols.
^It does not apply to revolvers, manually operated repeating pistols, and semi-auto pistols." ~~ QuietComment
