    Nighthawk Counselor - Newly released single-stack 9mm

Thoughts? I love everything about this gun except the price. I'm no stranger to high-end 1911's (just bought a Springfield Pro that is worth every dime), but this one is seriously overpriced. I think this will only appeal to the most diehard Nighthawk fans.

    MSRP: $3,799

    Details

The Counselor is a 9mm, 3.5-inch barrel, 1911 Officer Model, based on a shortened lightweight aluminum frame, complete with an aluminum MSH and grip safety.

Nighthawk added its new bobbed-concealment beavertail and hammer, which are smaller for concealed carry. The gun is in 9mm and features an 8+1 capacity. It also sports a brand new slide design. Most pistol slides have "negative" serrations. Translation: Material has been machined away from the slide to create slots for your fingers to grip. However, the Nighthawk Counselor has "positive" serrations up front that protrude out from the slide for a very unique look and excellent grip for a press-check.

Most importantly, the Counselor features the manufacturer's patent-pending Flush-Fit Magwell. Nighthawk built the Counselor to have the same overall length of an officer frame, but with a magwell included. To accomplish this, Nighthawk cut an officer frame even shorter, added a channel for its custom-engineered magwell, and the magwell slides in from the front while only adding back the length of the frame it removed. The magwell holds the sear spring in place, a feat that has never been done before. This combination of a small gun with a magwell included is the ultimate solution for concealed carry.

Another feature included with this model is an ultra-high undercut triggerguard, so that most full size hands can still fit on the grip. Lastly, we have the G10 Scales, which Nighthawk says were custom engineered with Railscales for this pistol and "are thinner than the thinnest 1911 grips available on the market."

    - Overall Length: 7.01 inches
    - Width: 1.10 inches

Of course. It is marketed to the individual who has the funds and desires the very best. And I'm sure someone will take the bait.

If it was on-roster and around $2,500, I would take the bait.

            Should charge an advertising fee.
I'll pass on less than half the price, new or used.

At those prices...they should have named it the Consiglieri ...

If it was on roster, I’d bend over for it

Track down a nice Detonics for 1/3 the price.

As a owner of several Nighthawks, (and a bunch of other hi-end 1911's) I'd buy it.
I've found that their workmanship and performance is worth (to me) the initial cost.

Not that I could buy them since they are off-roster but I fail to see how this is $1-2k better than the Wilson EDC X9 or Ed Brown EVO KC9.

^^^Exactly, the Wilson EDC X9 is a much better bang for your buck at $2,895. And it holds 15+1 rounds versus 8+1.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.
