While I don't know the rules, I can speak to my recent experience which sounds exactly like yours.
A friend was picking up his newly purchased handgun (from Turners) after the 10 day waiting period. I was selling him my handgun. We took it down to Turners and he started the PPT paperwork and 10 day wait for the purchase of my gun the same day he picked up his new gun.Guns, dogs and home alarms. ppt transfers are not subject to the 30 day one handgun law. you can ppt as many guns as you can get your grubby hands on. j/k. now go and start your collectionComment

Your fine... PPT's are exempt from the 30day ruleComment

Depends on how the dealer lists them.
I bought a consignment gun and was told by several people and places "You can buy a new one before 30 days since your buying a used gun"... but the dealer i bought the consignment gun from must have listed it wrong because i bought a new gun elsewhere and the DROS got rejected saying i was in violation of my 1/30 rule... i looked under the paperwork and the handgun was listed wrong and that boned me.

This was the scan... it was listed as "Dealer Sale" insted of "used" or "PPT"

I have personally purchased "USED" Person to Person transfer handguns within days of eachother.... its when it goes into the DEALERS inventory thats screws things up.
You can purchase a new Handgun today, and then buy used handguns anytime and as often as you want during the 1/30 deal.... 100% true.

Does the Search really suck that bad on this site?
That question gets asked at least several times a week.I think it can be confirmed that an alien xenomorph is absolutely no match for good ole' Alabama black snake!

You are good to go unless the second purchase (PPT or new) is transacted in the City of Los Angeles. LA has a one per month rule only regardless of PPT. According to Turner's Reseda (City of LA and yes I know about the gun store BS), the CA DOJ out of respect to the local ordinance will kick back a second hand gun purchase in 30 days if done in LA including PPT. This happened to me as I was preparing to fill out a PPT DROS. Simply went to Turner's Redondo Beach and had no issue.Comment

You know, what gives??? The question was already correctly answered in this thread by several people and you felt the need to contradict them with what is the wrong or at the least, incomplete information?
PPTs are exempt. It doesn't require a lawyer to know/understand this. It isn't complex or confusing.Expert firearms attorney: https://www.rwslaw.com/team/adam-j-richards/
