Quick Glock 21 SF question. Update

So i recently ppt'd a glock 21 sf with the picatanny rail and the ambi mag release. Awsome gun, cant wait to shoot it. but my question is why do Glosk 21 mags work in it. i was going to get me a new 10 rnd mag but i couldnt find any for the SF. The guy behind the counter said just hand me a G21 mag. He opened it up and it worked, snapped right in and both side of the ambi release worked 100%. I have read that the G21 mags wont work in the G21sf with the ambi mag release. Any one have info on this.

Does the front of the mag have a square cut out of the plastic where you can see metal? It would be at the same level as the mag release.

Older Glock 21 mag without the rectangular cut on the front part of magazine will not work with 21SF with ambi safety. New mags from Glock will have this feature.

I don't believe Glock is making new mags that don't have the cut out for the ambi safety. I think the new 9mm mags even have the cutout and they don't offer 9s with the ambi safety yet.

So you would be rebuilding your old 21 mags with new 21 mags that just happen to work in the 21 SF

I'm not a lawyer but I would say you are good to go.

Naw I sold it. It killed me cause I really liked it and I sold it too cheep.... I bought the Glock to ease the pain...

All new (8th generation) Glock magazines have the ambi-mag release cut in them.

The Glock 17MB and 19MB have been available for the last couple of years in the EU. There are currently no plans to import them to the USA.

C = Compensated
SF = Short Frame
MB = aMBi-magazine release
RTF = Rough Texture Frame

As long as you can find the parts kit, I don't see any reason why not... of course, IANAL...

It catches a little cut out in the front of the mag and swings in tword the frame when you push in the mag release.
