Hey Calgunners,
Since you are all such a knowledgeable bunch, I figured I would ask for some opinions on my issue. Currently, my summer carry is a S&W Model 60 Pro Series in the Appendix Carry position. With my body type, it is one of the easiest guns for me to conceal while wearing a t-shirt. Specifically in the Appendix Carry position. Unfortunately, it is sweat city in that area of my person so rust has started to become a problem. The gun has a stainless steel satin finish but, where it's really starting to rust is the hammer, trigger and rear sight. The hammer and trigger are the typical S&W forged finish. Those areas are becoming problematic. I wear the gun in a kydex holster, take it off every night and wipe it down with lube and still, rust EVERYDAY. Do I need to just switch to a single stack, polymer firearm with a nice coated finish on the slide? Or am I being too dramatic. I personally would like to not ruin an awesome revolver from my own sweat and if the trigger and hammer are hurting from rust, I can only imagine what the internals look like. And I definitely don't have the time to fully disassemble the firearm regularly. Help!
