CZ75 BD Slide stop

Before I just start buying more parts at over 30 bucks a piece I figured I would reach out here.

I have the 1999 production 10 round mags as well. The only thing I have done to the gun outside of the slide stop is remove the mag brake spring.

I thought the SP01 slide stop was drop in on the 75BD, but I don't know why the one you got form Cajun doesn't work.

Never had a breakage, but I bought a spare slide stop from CZ custom and it was a drop in part.

I am running an extended (SP-01 style) slide stop in my CZ75 BD without issue. My pistol is a 2014 so there may be some differences from yours due to the production year that i am not aware of. I am also using newer magazines. It is possible that the slide stop that you acquired it is just a bad part.

Have you tried a newer magazine to see if there is any difference in the followers or the magazine tubes?

If i was in your shoes i would contact Cajun Gun Works directly and explain your situation. They see allot of CZs from a wide range of production dates and they like to help their customers solve problems such as yours.

I recently became interested in this issue given that I've bought four 75B type pistols over the past 2 years (75BD, 75B .40, SP-01 and PCR). My research indicated I should have a few Firing Pin Retaining Pins in my parts kit along with a couple of Slide Stops. I noted some older posts on various forums about guys having this failure to lock back after replacing a broken Slide Stop. It seemed to pop up when discussing older pistols and magazines.

Anyway, before ordering some Slide Stops for my parts kit, I checked out my pistols using my CZ and Mech-Gar magazines. Since all my pistols and magazines are newer (2017-18), the interface between the Slide Stop and magazine followers looked good. However, given the current design/look of the magazine followers, my bet would be that somewhere along the way CZ tweaked the design of the Slide Stop (possibly to accommodate the trend toward heavier 9mm bullets) which necessitated a tweaking of the magazine followers. In fact, Mech-Gar magazines look like the followers were beefed up to enable contact with the Slide Stop.

You might want to try a new factory or Mech-Gar magazine. FWIW and good luck.

I don't know how many mags you have but CZ USA sells the followers for $3 each. I don't know about shipping.

Well, I got back from vacation and my new followers were in the mail. I just swapped them out and I think we have found the problem. The slide locks back like before when hand cycling. Final test will be at the range this weekend.
